S-Scripture: Acts 23:6, “6Paul realized that some members of the high council were Sadducees and some were Pharisees, so he shouted, “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, as were my ancestors! And I am on trial because my hope is in the resurrection of the dead!” (NLT)
O-Observation: Paul’s hope in the Resurrected Savior cost him many beatings, cursings, prison time, and eventually cost him his life. In Acts 9:15-16, God told Ananias how He was going to use Paul, and how Paul would suffer much for Him!
A-Application: My hope is in the Resurrected Savior, but I am not being persecuted for my faith. I wonder if it is because God has protected me, or if I haven’t truly been a testimony of the greatness of Christ. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not signing up for slaps in the face, beatings, cursings, or even death, at least not yet, but it is my prayer that my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ would cause a stir in the community in which I live in! If Christians are not causing a stir, something is wrong! Now, I am not saying we deliberately cause trouble. The thing I am talking about is living our lives so close to Jesus that others take notice, and they realize that there is something different about us!
P-Prayer: Father, I feel like my commitment to You is no where near the commitment the early disciples had with You! Lord, it is my prayer that you would strengthen my faith, and my resolve so that I can make a difference in Morgantown and the world! I pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
