Working Together For The Furtherance Of The Gospel

S-Scripture:  Mark 3:24-25, “A kingdom at war with itself will collapse.  A home divided against itself is doomed.”  (NLT)

O-Observation:  Earlier in this chapter, Jesus healed a man with a deformed hand, He called out the Twelve Apostles, and was criticized for doing the work of God.  The Pharisees accused Jesus of being possessed by Satan.  These teachers of religious law had to think fast, because the people were amazed at what God had accomplished through Jesus!  These leaders lashed out at Jesus by saying He was possessed by Satan.  This was their only answer to the miracle Jesus had just performed.  Jesus’ response reminded me of American History.  Satan tried to do all he could do to destroy America in the Civil War era.  He desires for America to be divided!  He desires America to collapse!  He knows that a Nation (that was built on the principles of God’s Word) will only fail, when the Lord is not their God!  A Nation divided will not advance the Kingdom of Christ, and will not place preeminence on the Son of God!

A-Application:  This principle is not only true of kingdoms, it is true of Nations, Churches, Homes, and anything precious to the Lord.  Satan’s ultimate goal is to collapse and destroy God’s people.  When God is not the focal point of our lives, we are in bad shape.  As One Nation, under God, it is my prayer that America will repent and turn to Jesus! 

P-Prayer:  Father, protect us from division.  Help us to respond humbly to those who oppose and criticize us!   Help us to be unified together as a Nation, a Church, A Home, and any other area in our lives which needs unity!  In Jesus Name.  Amen.
