S-Scripture:  Mark 1:35, “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”  (NIV)

O-Observation:  Jesus had finished a busy day of ministry.

  • He taught in the Synagogue, v21.
  • He cast out demons, v25.
  • He healed Peter’s mother-in-law’s fever, v31.
  • He healed various diseases, v34.
  • He drove out demons, v34.
  • He prayed in a solitary place, v 35.

A-Application:  As there were busy days for the Lord and His disciples, so it will be with us.  There will be days of ministry where we encourage and aid those who are in need.  Ministry can get busy, and exhausting, but we should never be too busy or too exhausted to find a solitary place to communicate with the Lord!

P-Prayer:  Dear God, thank You for the privilege of serving others!  Thank You for the ministry in which You have called us to.  Thank You for the privilege of prayer.  Forgive us for our lack of prayer to You.  Lord, You know how “busy” we can get with the “ministry”.  Help us to not neglect one of the most important ministries in the Christian faith.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.
